The Galesburg boys basketball team traveled to Sterling Tuesday night for a Western Big 6 match-up and suffered a 66 - 46 loss to the Golden Warriors. Sterling led the entire game as Galesburg struggled with their shooting and were hampered with foul trouble as well. The Silver Streaks drop to 2 - 10 in conference play and 8 - 21 on the season overall.
Galesburg shot 18 of 54 from the field, 4 of 23 from beyond the arc, and 6 of 9 from the free throw line. The team grabbed 30 rebounds, had 8 assists and only 8 turnovers. The Streaks were led in scoring by Cesaire Bile with 8 points and then several players finished with 6 points, including Jaxon Wyatt (plagued with foul trouble most of the night), Leslie Kelley (fouled out), Keigen Crummer, and Jackson Crock Sibbing.
Rahkim McCellan earned the Dave's Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game award with his energized play on both offense and defense coming off the bench. He stepped up as post players got into foul trouble. Rahkim finished the night with 5 points and 4 rebounds.
