The Galesburg Silver Streaks girls basketball team continued their winning ways at the Coles County Holiday Tournament Saturday at Mattoon High School with a 60 -25 win over the Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs. With their third win in the tournament, the Streaks now advance to the tournament's Championship game versus Teutopolis at Charleston High School at 6:00pm.

The Streaks defense was dominating once again. In the 4th quarter, Galesburg prevented Mahomet-Seymour from scoring any field goals. In the last three weeks of games, the Streaks have kept the other team from scoring a field goal in 3 different quarters. Galesburg was led in scoring by Lily Furrow and Grace Herchenroder with 12 points each, Ella Herchenroder scored 10 points, Zaniyah Carter finished with 9 points, and Josslyn Peck had 6 points. Overall, 8 Streaks players scored in the game.

Lily Furrow earned the Dave's Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game award for an overall great performance with her work on defense, very active in rebounding, and scoring 12 points in the game.
