REPLAY: GHS Silver Streaks girls basketball vs Moline

Thursday night at John Thiel Gymnasium, the Galesburg High School girls basketball team bounced back after suffering their first conference loss a week ago with a big win over the Moline Maroons, 52-33. The Streaks get the season sweep against the Maroons and are now 7-1 in Western Big 6 Conference play and 18-4 on the season.
Galesburg shot 19 of 46 from the field, 7 of 19 from the 3-point line, and 7 of 11 from the charity stripe. They grabbed 34 rebounds, had 15 assists but also committed 15 turnovers in the game. The Streaks were led in scoring by Josslyn Peck with 11 points, Ella Herchenroder scored 9 points, Jozalyn Kilgore finished with 8 points and Taylor Herchenroder contributed 6 points.
Crunch time for Galesburg came in the first quarter, with senior Josslyn Peck providing the spark that the Streaks needed and earning the Dave's Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game award. Josslyn contributed 7 points in that first quarter, and finished the game with 11 points, 5 rebounds, a couple of steals and a big block.
