At John Thiel Gymnasium Saturday afternoon, it was a Top 10 match-up as the Galesburg High School girls basketball team, ranked #8 in the state, hosted the Morton Potters, who are ranked #4. A stiff zone defense by Morton caused way too many turnovers by Galesburg, and the Streaks couldn't get the outside shots to drop, which all added up to a win for the Potters, 54-30. Galesburg is now 18-5 on the season.

It was a tough shooting day for the Silver Streaks going 13 of 44 from the field, just 1 of 15 from 3-point range,  and 3 of 8 from the free throw line. In addition, ball control was another issue with Galesburg committing 21 turnovers in the game.

The leading scorer and rebounder for Galesburg was Jozalyn Kilgore, who was named the Dave's Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game. She finished with 13 points, 7 rebounds, 5 of them on offense, and just an overall great effort in the game.
