The Silver Streaks are now 17-4 on the season and 6-1 in the conference. Galesburg and Sterling are now tied for 1st in the conference. Galesburg won when they played Sterling earlier in the season.
It was offensive rebounds for 2nd chance points and solid shooting from the free throw line that clinched it for Sterling. They pulled down 34 rebounds, 13 of which were offensive, and scored 17 of 22 free-throws. Galesburg shot 19 of 51 from the field, 7 of 19 from beyond the arc, and 5 of 9 from the free-throw line. The Streaks had 27 rebounds and 12 assists along with 19 turnovers. Galesburg was led in scoring by Ella Herchenroder with 14 points, Joz Kilgore with 11, Zaniyah Carter and Khloe May both scored 6 coming off the bench, and Josslyn Peck scored 4 points.
Jozalyn Kilgore played with heart and determination, especially in her defensive work against Sterling's 6-foot 3-inch Madison Austin who has already committed to playing Division I college basketball at Illinois State, and was named the Dave's Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game. Jozalyn scored 11 points, pulled down 7 rebounds and had a couple of steals in the game.
